About Us and the Awards We've Won!
Since its first year of publishing in 1998, The Write Stuff has grown from 1,800 customers to more than 35,000. The monthly periodical is delivered to schools in all fifty states.

The Write Stuff is the winner of the 2008 Teachers' Choice Award! Featured in Learning Magazine, The Write Stuff was chosen by teachers who used the publication in their classrooms. It received this top award because of its creativity, style, appeal, and ease of incorporating the concepts into lesson plans.

The Association of Education Publishers also nominated The Write Stuff for its "Periodical of the Year" award. The Write Stuff was recognized at the Press Club in Washington, DC. for this prestigious honor.

Patty Gibbons Saunier and Gary Rittenour are the original author and artist. In addition, they are also the creators of the internationally syndicated column, "Grammar Matters" TM (Copley News Service).

Patty Saunier is the author of three textbooks and has been a writer, columnist, and reporter for numerous publications. She graduated John Carroll University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She is married to Denny and they have three daughters, Kate, Colleen, and Meg.

Gary Rittenour is the designer of all of The Write Stuff’s puzzles and characters, including Granny Grammar and the cast of the Grammar Crackers comic strip. Gary enjoys golf, traveling, and collecting antiques. He graduated Kent State University with a degree in Bachelor of Fine & Professional Arts in Graphic Design/Illustration.
